Young Lovers or Duck Eggs | poetry | Kenton K. Yee

Young Lovers or Duck Eggs

You can’t ruin them, soft
or blue, poached
or scrambled.

They can hatch
into a sparrow, eagle,
angel, boy, or star

spangling the midnight sky
in stacks of 5-by-6
polymer cartons

in constellation time
than in kind.
