several men’s failed attempts at asking me out to brunch

an egg unzipped
from crown to crotch
lingers in its boil

whip the yolk into orgy
the scrambled egg is a broken
brick road two sunny side ups

a pair of breasts
the asexual egg in a burnt
green pan a poached disc

no hollandaise
an uncooked egg is still
edible

though given the heat
of the body a hen can warm
a shell into being

if you crack a conch shell
rarely will the spineless wool
of its homeowner spill out

is love a guarantee
            of the body
no for an egg to simmer & spread

amoebic into another
you don’t need butter
no primer no solvent

no adhesive
there are too many
no’s in the body when it submits

to opening
