Brayden Norris | I Plant No Flags

I Plant No Flags

When I see you there,
I seem to forget
that the world is ugly,
and so am I

I tell you:
I plant no flags in living flesh.
I plant no hands in your hair.

You tell me:
Not everything is a
rebellion
. But the way you
kiss me, it is laced with forgiveness

I tell you:
You are not required
to love me
. Even when you insist
on being every woman I have ever wanted

I plant no flags in living flesh.
I travel roads. This is the place
in the world where you are
